Empty states that stop the support WhatsApp
“No data” is an accusation. Say why (no bookings today, filter too tight) and give a next step (clear filter, create first invoice, invite a teammate). Empty is a teaching moment.
First-run empty states are onboarding. Recurring empty states are ops. Write them differently.
“Submit” is how tickets get born
Buttons: Pay ₹4,720, Book 4:30 pm slot, Send to accounts. Verbs plus object. Submit is a database word.
Error copy that names the next click
Name the field, the rule, and the fix: “GSTIN must be 15 characters. Check the certificate.” Not “Invalid GST.” If the failure is on our side, say so and when to retry.
Map OTP, payment pending, and duplicate submit — the Indian trinity — to unique messages.
Name the field, the rule, and the retry
If OTP failed, say resend in 30 seconds — not “error 429.” If payment is pending, say do not pay twice. Specific beats witty.
Placeholders are not labels
When the placeholder vanishes, the user cannot check the format. Visible label + hint below. Accessibility wants the same.
Hindi-English mix without sounding like a government portal
Staff already mix languages. UI can too, lightly: “Slot confirm हो गया — SMS देखें.” Do not run entire screens through generic translate. Legal and medical stay precise.
Tone: adult, short, no motivational quotes in errors.
Confirmation screens that prevent double bookings
After pay or book: what happened, reference ID, when someone will call, and a don’t-press-again note. Duplicate submits are a copy + disabled-button problem.
Email/SMS should match the screen. Mismatch creates the “did it work?” chat.
Writing with Brevia before pixels freeze
Strings live in the Figma, then in the repo. Next.js should not hardcode a second voice. Floor: UI/UX ₹50,000 from Thousand Lights. Contact with a ticket export.
Book a Consultation if you only want a copy pass on an existing product.
