Landing Page vs Full Website — What Do You Need?

Landing page vs full business website for Indian SMEs: ads vs SEO, trust pages, cost floors from Chennai, and when a single URL beats a 10-page brochure — or becomes a trap.

Brevia Tech SolutionsPublished 19 November 2026Updated 18 November 2026

Founders collapse two products into one sentence: “We need a website.” Half the time they need a campaign URL that turns a Meta click into a WhatsApp. The other half they need a company on the internet that a procurement officer can diligence. Those are not the same SKU and they should not share a price.

A landing page has one job, one audience, one action. A full website holds several jobs: services, proof, careers, vendors, SEO URLs, and a contact path that still works when ads are paused. Mixing them produces a homepage with six menus and no conversion — or a lander that cannot explain who you are when someone Googles the brand.

From Chennai we ship both: Landing Pages from ₹7,500 and Business Websites from ₹28,000 (static from ₹18,000). We would rather sell the smaller thing than decorate a brochure nobody will maintain.

This comparison is for Indian SMEs choosing sequence, not aesthetics. If stack choice is still open, park this tab and read how to choose a website platform. If budget is the anxiety, use how much a business website costs.

Ads versus organic is the cleanest tie-breaker we use on discovery calls. Paid traffic wants a lander. Search and reputation want a site. Many companies need lander now, site next quarter — not a 20-page fiction in week one.

If you already know the job, Book a Consultation or Contact Us. If you do not, the sections below force the choice.

What a landing page is for — and what it refuses to be

A lander is a conversation with one visitor who arrived with one intent: a webinar, a festive SKU, a clinic camp, a lead magnet, a single service offer. Navigation is a leak. Multiple offers are a leak.

It still needs proof, a clear INR or “talk to us” next step, and mobile thumbs. Pretty without a CTA is a poster. CTA without proof is a scam vibe. Structure beats decoration — that is the landing page product.

One URL, one promise, one metric

If you cannot name the primary conversion (form, call, WhatsApp, checkout), you are not ready for a lander. You are still in strategy. Do not hire pixels yet.

What a full website is for — inventory, not a long scroll

A business site is a small information system: who you are, what you sell, where you are, how to reach you, and legal/GST trust. Each of those deserves a URL when people search them separately.

Editors must be able to change hours and fees without opening a design tool. That is why many SMEs land on WordPress for the site even if campaigns sit on dedicated landers.

Homepages are indexes, not ads

The home explains the firm and routes. It should not be rewritten every time the performance marketer launches a 20% off. That rewrite belongs on a lander.

Ads versus organic is the practical tie-breaker

If 80% of new conversations start on Meta or Google Ads, the first rupee should buy a conversion URL. Quality Score and relevance suffer when the ad says “PCOD clinic camp” and the homepage says “multi-speciality excellence since 1998.”

If 80% of demand is branded search, referrals, and “best CA in Adyar” queries, you need crawlable service pages and SEO, not only a funnel page.

Mixed channels still get two URLs

Keep the brand site for reputation. Point campaigns to /offers/... so analytics and creative tests stay clean. One domain can host both.

When a landing page is enough for 90 days

Pre-launch waitlists, a single consulting offer, a local workshop, a product drop with WhatsApp checkout. You have one founder, no HR page, and you are not pitching enterprises that ask for CIN.

Enough does not mean forever. Put a date on the calendar to graduate to a business site so you do not live on a campaign leftover in month 14.

The 90-day review question

“What pages did people ask for on WhatsApp that do not exist?” Those requests are your sitemap. Build them as a site, not as 12 more sections on the lander.

When a landing page is a trap

B2B buyers, doctors, schools, and exporters diligence you. A single long scroll with stock photos and no address reads as a pop-up stall. Procurement will bounce.

SEO teams cannot build clusters on one URL. If you promised “we will do SEO later” while only buying a lander, you bought a delay. Cost of delay shows up in website cost in India.

Page inventory that turns a lander into a site

Add independent About, 3–6 service URLs, Contact with map/hours, Privacy/Terms, and optionally Blog or Work. That is a business website. Nav appears because people need to wander without an ad query.

Static from ₹18,000 can hold that inventory if updates are rare. WordPress if the receptionist will edit. Custom Next.js if the site is a product. See static vs WordPress vs custom.

Do not fake a site with empty menu items

Coming-soon Services is worse than a honest lander. Ship fewer live URLs.

Cost, timeline, and who should approve which SKU

Landers are faster: copy and one layout, often days once content exists. Full sites wait on photography, legal pages, and five stakeholders. How long a website takes is mostly content, not coding.

Founders approve landers. Boards and CAs approve sites. Match the approval path to the SKU so the designer is not stuck in a family WhatsApp group about favicon colour.

Do not pay business-site rates for a one-offer URL

If the sitemap is one page, the ₹28,000 brochure package is the wrong cart. Buy the lander floor and keep budget for ads or product photos.

Trust pages Indian visitors still open on mobile

Contact, About, and anything with GSTIN, address, and people. Mobile users will hunt the hamburger for “are you real?” even after an ad. Mobile-first failures often hide those links.

Stores add shipping, refund, and invoice expectations. Brochure sites add testimonials with surnames and cities. Fake UI badges help nobody.

Sequence we recommend from Chennai discovery calls

If a campaign is live or imminent: lander this week, site this quarter. If you are replacing a dead 2017 site: full site, then landers per offer. If you are pre-revenue: lander plus a simple about/contact so brand search is not empty.

Framer-pretty marketing one-pagers can be landers; they are not automatically a CMS. Pair Framer vs WordPress if the debate is visual canvas versus editor site.

Analytics must know which URL did the job

Separate conversion events for lander vs site contact. Otherwise the homepage will be blamed for ad waste it never received.

How Brevia packages the two jobs without mixing invoices

Landing Pages ₹7,500. Business Website ₹28,000. Static from ₹18,000. We will refuse to stuff a company encyclopedia into a lander quote or starve a site of contact pages to hit a lander price.

You can buy both on one SOW

Home + services + two campaign URLs is a common Chennai SME bundle. We still name them as different templates so ads do not hijack the brand IA.

Frequently asked questions

Yes if you sell one offer this quarter and traffic is mostly ads or WhatsApp. No if buyers Google your firm name and expect Services, GST details, and an address. Start with Landing Pages and add a business site when the page list grows.

You can rank for a tight offer query. You will struggle for a cluster of service + city terms. Organic programs usually need a real site plus monthly SEO.

Our floors: landing ₹7,500; static from ₹18,000; business website ₹28,000. A “₹7,500 full website” is a landing page with extra nav links to nowhere.

Rarely. Homepages negotiate with every visitor. Ads need one promise and one CTA. Point Meta/Google to a dedicated landing page.

When you need independent URLs for services, about, contact, legal, and maybe a blog — typically 6–10 for an SME. Count jobs, not a magic integer.

Yes. Keep the WordPress brochure as the brand home and spin landers per offer so ads do not rewrite the homepage every week.

B2B and medical/legal buyers often want address, GSTIN, and people. D2C ads can convert on one long page if proof and checkout or WhatsApp are clear. See GST-ready trust signals.
